Terms of Use

Effective Date: November 24, 2025

By accessing or using autobit.co.jp (the “Site”), registering an account, placing inquiries, bidding, or purchasing vehicles through Autobit (“Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. General

1.1 Autobit acts solely as an intermediary/proxy-buying agent connecting international buyers with Japanese used-car dealers, wholesalers, auction houses, and shipping companies.

1.2 We do not own, sell, or take title to any vehicles listed on the Site unless explicitly stated otherwise.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts to use the Service.

3. Account Registration

3.1 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login details.

3.2 You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it promptly.

3.3 Autobit may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

4. Purchasing Process

4.1 All vehicle information (mileage, condition, equipment, auction grade, etc.) is provided by third-party sellers or auction houses. Autobit is not liable for inaccuracies.

4.2 Prices shown are in Japanese Yen (JPY) unless otherwise stated.

4.3 Once you confirm and pay a pro-forma invoice, the purchase becomes binding. Cancellation after payment may incur fees (see Section 8).

4.4 Fixed-price purchases and successful auction bids are final and non-refundable except as stated in Section 9.

5. Payment

5.1 Accepted payment methods: bank wire transfer, PayPal, Wise, or other methods communicated by Autobit.

5.2 Full payment of the pro-forma invoice (vehicle cost + Autobit service fee + inland transport + any additional charges) is required before the vehicle is purchased on your behalf.

5.3 You are responsible for all bank fees, currency conversion fees, and intermediary bank charges.

6. Shipping & Export

6.1 Autobit coordinates shipping but contracts directly with licensed freight forwarders and shipping lines.

6.2 Shipping costs, marine insurance, and destination-country charges (customs duties, taxes, clearance fees, port fees, etc.) are your responsibility and are estimates until final invoices are issued.

6.3 Delivery timelines are estimates only. Delays caused by shipping lines, ports, weather, or customs are beyond our control.

7. Customs Clearance & Import Compliance

Autobit does not provide customs clearance services at the destination country. You are solely responsible for:

  • Compliance with all import laws and regulations of your country
  • Payment of all duties, taxes, VAT/GST, and clearance fees
  • Obtaining any required import permits or approvals

Failure to clear the vehicle may result in storage fees, abandonment, or destruction of the vehicle at your expense.

8. Cancellation & Refund Policy

8.1 Before payment: free cancellation

8.2 After payment but before vehicle purchase at auction or from dealer: 50% of Autobit service fee is non-refundable

8.3 After vehicle is purchased on your behalf: no refund of vehicle cost or service fee

8.4 Shipping and additional charges already incurred will be deducted from any refund

9. Vehicle Condition & Limited Return Policy

9.1 All vehicles are sold strictly **“AS-IS, WHERE-IS”** with no warranty from Autobit.

9.2 Hidden defects: If a major mechanical defect (engine or transmission seizure) that was deliberately concealed by the seller is proven within 30 days of the vehicle leaving Japan, Autobit will assist in negotiating compensation with the Japanese seller on a best-effort basis. Autobit is not liable for any compensation amount.

9.3 Minor issues, cosmetic damage, normal wear and tear, or defects visible in photos/auction reports are not eligible for returns or refunds.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Autobit’s total liability shall not exceed the service fee paid by you for the specific transaction.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profit, vehicle value depreciation, or towing/storage fees.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site (text, images, logos, software) is owned by Autobit or its licensors and may not be used without written permission.

12. Prohibited Activities

You may not:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Site
  • Attempt to bid or purchase on behalf of sanctioned individuals or entities
  • Engage in fraud, misrepresentation, or money laundering

13. Termination

Autobit may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without notice, for any breach of these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Tokyo, Japan.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
